All ADK Yoga Workshops require a minimum enrollment to take place hence the deposit or full payment in advance. Some of the workshops have reduced fee pre-paid a week in advance. There's limited space, please pre-register and/or call/e-mail  to make sure there's room before showing up.

Workshop Cancellation policy: For workshops with a waiting list you must cancel at least five days in advance to receive a full refund. For workshops without a waiting list you must cancel at least two days in advance to receive a full refund.

JANUARY
 


YIN YOGA with Barb Mitchell - Four (4) week series Thursday January 4, 11, 18, 25, 2018 5:30-7:00 pm,  Cost: Pre-Register for all 4 classes $40 due by December 30, 2017, Drop in: $15 - Relax after the Holiday rush and treat yourself to a slow, gentle Yin yoga class. Yin yoga is an inward practice that can help maintain and improve mobility with emphasis on the lower body, targeting the tissues that surround and support the muscles. Poses are held for 3-15 minutes with gentle awareness and a steady even presence. Props are used to support and encourage muscles to relax. Energetically, Yin yoga can assist in reducing heart rate, blood pressure and stimulate acupressure points. Yin yoga is NOT restorative yoga, as poses require a gentle, steady effort. Some yoga or meditation experience is helpful but not necessary. Beginners are welcome. Class lasts 90 minutes. Wear comfortable clothing, props are  provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own mat if you’d like. Chair Yoga - with Luis F. Sierra .  Eight (8) week series - $80 for series - Can't sign up for series? Drop-in for individual classes $15 [please call in advance to reserve spot] - Wednesdays, Jan 10 to Feb. 28- 4:00 to 5:00 PM. NEW TIME   - This Class presents Hatha Yoga poses adapted for a chair or using the chair as a prop. This allows people who have physical limitations and those who for other reasons can't get down on the floor to maintain their yoga practice. We will do a range of poses for upper and lower body, some flow sequences and end with a guided relaxation. Need a minimum of six people to commit for the series  for this workshop to take place. SPACE IS LIMITED. New Beginners Welcome!!

MARCH

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR)- Six Week Course - March 5, 12, 19, 26, April 2 , 9 - Pay  $220  by February 19, after this date $240  - with Luis F. Sierra - Mondays – - 6:00 to 8:00 pm  This six-week course is based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D.  at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Stress Reduction Clinic.  Mindfulness is a way of being fully aware of the present as it unfolds, tuning into breath, and learning to experience life more fully, moment to moment.  People have found MBSR helpful in coping with a range of conditions, including personal stress, pain and chronic illness.
